Exhibition Content Evaluation

Front-End Audience Testing

Jewish Historical Society, DC

Goal | Evaluate the impact of potential narratives to appear in a museum focused on the history of civic participation and identity among Jews in the Washington, DC area.

As part of developing the core exhibition for a new museum on Jewish history in the Washington, DC area, I coordinated a front-end user testing program of sample narratives and objects that might appear in the exhibition focusing on civic participation and Jewish identity. Testing included a mix of online surveys and in-person focus-group style workshops. Throughout this study, I moderated 17 focus groups with over 200 people. I developed the testing methodology and hard-copy and digital materials, and produced a final report. The findings bore a significant impact on the exhibition project, which is still in-process.
